Coach Otto Addo has swung the axe and made 8 changes to the starting line-up for the international friendly between Ghana and Nicaragua on Tuesday evening.
Goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott, defenders Denis Odoi, Alexander Djiku and Baba Rahman – who started in the Black Stars’ 3-0 first-friendly defeat to Brazil last Friday – have lost their slots.
The quartet has been replaced by Richard Ofori, right-back Seidu Alidu, Mohammed Salisu to partner captain Daniel Amartey in central defence for his maiden start, and left-back Gideon Mensah.
Djiku, meanwhile, is not part of Otto Addo’s 24-man match-day squad due to fitness issues.
In a three-man midfield, Iddrisu Baba maintains his place as the anchorman while captain Andre Ayew makes way for Daniel-Kofi Kyereh to partner Mohammed Kudus in a more advanced role.
Young wingers Fatawu Issahaku and Osman Bukari, who warmed the bench in the Brazil game, have been named to replace the pair of Jordan Ayew and Kamaldeen Sulemana on the flanks.
Like Salisu, striker Iñaki Williams also makes his first Ghana start in his second international cap as the number 9.
Joining Djiku completely out of the game are new boy Tariq Lamptey and Kamaldeen. The trio has been excused from the game as a precautionary measure.
The Black Stars of Ghana take on Nicaragua at Estadio Francisco Artés Carrasco in Lorca, Spain. Kickoff is 18:00 GMT.
