U-20 WWC: Princesses bow out with zero points, Boaduwaa shares disappointment

Black Princesses forward Doris Boaduwaa is disappointed following Ghana’s exit from the ongoing FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

Ghana failed to record a win in the group stages, losing all three matches against the USA, Japan, and Netherlands.

The U20 Women’s side conceded nine goals scoring just once and it happened against the Netherlands after losing 4-1 to the Europeans on Wednesday.

The Dutch took the lead in the 28th minute through Liz Rijsbergen and held on till halftime.

Ziva Caroline Henry doubled the lead and Ghana pulled one back immediately with a beautiful strike from Doris Boaduwaa.

Liz Rijsbergen grabbed her second of the game in the 65th minute before Marit Auee netted from the spot with six minutes remaining to seal victory for the Dutch.

Doris Boadu in a post expressed her disappointment after Ghana’s elimination.

“The disappointment is huge after this elimination, we could not reach our goal.

“Nothing is ever easy, we keep fighting to prepare for the future and come back even stronger ✊🏾🙌🏾”

“Thank you for your unwavering support since the beginning of this World Cup.”
