Hearts of Oak have confirmed that versatile defender James Sewornu has signed a contract extension with the club.
The 23-year-old is a product of the club’s youth side Auroras and who gained first-team promotion about two seasons ago.
Sewornu has proven himself a utility player with appearances across multiple positions in the Hearts backline and is able to operate as a defensive midfielder.
The club announced his contract renewal of four more years on Saturday:
“James Serwonu has extended his contract with the Phobians. He signed a 4-year contract extension deal which ends in 2026.”
In the 2021/22 season, Sewornu enjoyed 25 outings in the Ghana Premier League for coach Samuel Boadu’s side. He scored once – in their match-day 12 visit to Bibiani GoldStars last January,
