Yaw Annor: Egypt’s Ismaily sign 2021/22 GPL top scorer until 2027

Ghana winger Yaw Annor has completed a transfer from AshantiGold to Egyptian side Ismaily SC.

The 24-year-old speedster – who top-scored in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) with 22 goals in 30 games – becomes the first signing of the three-time champions for the 2022/23 season.

Despite currently battling survival in the ongoing 2021/22 Egyptian Premier League which ends in August, Ismaily already have sights on next season and with their financial power have outmuscled local clubs like Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in the pursuit of Annor.

Via their socials, the Ismailia Stadium outfit announced the arrival of Annor for the next five seasons.

“Ismaily Board Chairman Eng. Yahya Al-Koumi has succeeded in securing the signing of Ghanaian star Yaw Annor from AshantiGold who is active in the Black Stars on a long-term contract lasting for five seasons,” portions of a club statement read.

AshantiGold are reported to be receiving an amount in the region of $200,000 as transfer fee.

Yaw Annor previously played for Bechem United and was part of the side’s 2016 MTN FA Cup-winning side. He went on to feature in the Spanish lower-tier for CF Fuenlabrada and Burgos CF. He rejoined the Hunters in January 2020 before signing for AshantiGold seven months later.
