Hearts of Oak players have been drinking and smoking… – Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe

Hearts of Oak board member Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe has claimed that the club’s players have been drinking and smoking ahead of games.

The veteran football administrator is discontent with the Samuel Boadu-led technical team over their handling of issues at camp.

“I have managed Hearts of Oak for over 50 years. When I see indiscipline, I can smell it.

“I know what I’m talking about. I’ve repeatedly talked to the coach, not one-on-one alone [but] with others around [and] even at the board meetings that he is the overall boss of the club,” Nyaho told Asempa FM.

“There have been a lot of incidents – breaking of camp, players going to drink and smoke before they camp when they have a match the following day.

“These are the things we saw years ago.”

The board member also claims a gun was pulled during the team’s camping before the FA Cup final.

“At the night before Sunday’s game against Bechem United, I received a call from Alhaji Akambi that there was a clash between [Team Manager] W.O 1 Paul Tandoh and another member in camp.

“That W.O has pulled a gun and then I made some calls to find out what had actually happened.

Nyaho continued: “Later I had to call coach Boadu to make a complaint at the police station on the incident.

“These are all matters we must deal with if we want to improve as a club next season.

Hearts of Oak ended the season with the 2022 FA Cup title and will play in the 2022/23 Caf Confederation Cup.
