U-20 WWC: Ghana’s Princesses set for two-week training camp in Europe

The Black Princesses of Ghana will be stepping up preparations for the Costa Rica 2022 Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup with a two-week training camp in Europe.

According to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), coach Ben Fokuo’s side will relocate from their Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram camping base for a new environment from July 15 but failed to name the European destination.

“The Black Princesses will pitch camp in Europe from July 15-30 ahead of the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup in Costa Rica.

“Ghana will be making a record 6th straight appearance at the Fifa U-20 World Cup in Costa Rica in August this year.

“Head Coach Ben Fokuo will use the two-week tour to put final touches on the team’s preparations ahead of the tournament,” a publication read Wednesday.

Ghana are housed in a tough Group D with the USA, Japan and the Netherlands for the 16-team World Cup scheduled for August 10-28.

Princesses will open their campaign in the group against record winners USA at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto on August 11 before taking on reigning champions Japan in their second game at the same venue three days later.
