#FootyTransfers: Osman Bukari signs with Red Star Belgrade

Ghana international, Osman Bukari has sealed a permanent transfer from Belgian side KAA Gent to Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade.

The swift-footed winger enjoyed the 2021/22 season on loan at FC Nantes in France where he registered two goals and four assists in 26 matches across all competitions.

Bukari’s performances – which helped Nantes clinch the French Cup – attracted the interest of the Serbian powerhouse who have successfully signed him for a reported €2 million fee.

On Tuesday, the 23-year-old was unveiled as the second summer signing for coach Dejan Stanković’s side.

The new Red Star football No.19 did not hide his excitement about getting to don the red and white jersey.

“My first impression is great. I was doing great already now and I am very happy to be here,” Bukari began.

“I can play on both sides, and I manage when I play behind the attacker. It is not a problem for me to play against teams that are mostly defending themselves. I can break through any defense and I always find my way to the goal.

“I want to be successful here. That is the wish of every football player in a new club.

“I hope that the fans will enjoy my games, and I believe that I will also enjoy their support.

“I don’t feel pressure. It is up to me to prove myself on the field. It is not the player who should put pressure on himself, but to enjoy the field, and good results will come by themselves,” he added.
