Ampem Darkoa Ladies pip Hasaacas to win 2021/22 Women’s FA Cup

Ampem Darkoa Ladies completed a 2021/22 Ghana Women’s Premier League (WPL) and FA Cup double after beating Sekondi Hasaacas at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the second time on Sunday.

It was Joe Nana Adarkwa’s side who suffered such fate last season but this term, they have had to smile by exacting revenge on their regular title rivals.

Ampem Darkoa went into the game buoyed by the 5-4 penalty shootouts win against Hasaacas that made them league champions about a fortnight ago.

And the Techiman-based side sealed the double with a 1-0 victory in the FA Cup final in Kumasi.

Comfort Yeboah scored the only goal of the game from a 17th-minute penalty.

‘Nanamma’ as they are called, Ampem Darkoa held on for the victory and see them join Hasaacas Ladies in the exclusive league of double winners in the history of women’s football in Ghana.

Ampem Darkoa’s league-winning feat earns them the country’s spot in the second edition of the Caf Women’s Champions League. They will however have to negotiate their way into the main competition through a Wafu Zone-B qualifying tournament.
