Bottom-placed Elmina Sharks handed King Faisal a sixth consecutive defeat on match-day 24 of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) Sunday afternoon.
It was a meeting between two out-of-sorts teams at the Nduom Stadium.
But it was the hosts who ensured the three points stayed with them to boost their slim hopes of crawling out of the 18th position and possibly beat relegation in the upcoming final 10 games of the season.
Winger Ishmael Antwi decided a 1-0 win for Sharks with his goal in the 82nd minute.
Elmina Sharks, though unmoved from the bottom of the league standings after their fifth win of the season, see their points tally increase to 18. King Faisal’s free-fall now sees them in 13th place with 29 points after losing in six successive games.
