2022 Kirin Cup Soccer: Ghana to feature in 4-nation tourney in Japan

Ghana have subscribed to participate in the 2022 edition of the Kirin Cup Soccer tournament organized by Japan.

The four-nation competition is returning for the first time since 2016 when Bosnia and Herzegovina won it

Ghana joins hosts Japan who will be represented by the Samurai Blue, Chile and fellow Africans in Tunisia.

The Kirin Cup Soccer is a two-round tournament that will have four games played on two separate days on Friday, June 10 in Kobe and Tuesday the 14th in Osaka.

Hosts Japan will host Ghana at Noevir Stadium in Kobe on June 10. Kickoff is 9:55 am.

The second game for the Black Stars comes off four days later at the Panasonic Stadium in Osaka against either Chile or Tunisia. Kickoff is 6:15 am.

It is unclear which set of Black Stars the Ghana Football Association (GFA) will be presenting for the Kirin Cup as the dates fall within the same window the senior national team will be kick-starting their qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).

The Black Stars are to play two games – against Madagascar (Home) and Central African Republic (Away) in Group A of the Afcon 2023 qualifiers between May 30 and June 14.
