Felix Aboagye is new Aduana FC head coach

Ex-Ghana international, Felix Aboagye has joined title-chasing Aduana FC as new head coach.

The two-time Ghana Premier League winners have been without a substantive head coach since the end of January when Joseph Asare Bediako left on mutual termination after a string of poor results.

Former assistant coach Ben ‘Zola’ Bessa returned to take interim charge and supervised the Fire Boys to a defeat (away to Bibiani GoldStars) and four straight wins (vs Eleven Wonders, Karela United, King Faisal and Hearts of Oak).

With Zola short of the licensing requirement to continue the role, Aduana have engaged the services of Felix Aboagye, Footy-Ghana.com has confirmed.

The 46-year-old Caf License A holder joins Aduana from Great Olympics where he had been working as an assistant since the start of the ongoing 2021/22 season.

It is understood that Aboagye – who has also enjoyed coaching stints with Liberty Professionals, Elmina Sharks and Inter Allies in recent times – agreed to join Aduana till the end of the current campaign.

Aduana FC are very much in the race for laurels on two fronts – currently second and 8 points behind leaders Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League after 20 matches and in the Round of 16 of the MTN FA Cup competition where they are scheduled to host Berekum Chelsea on March 27.

Both Felix Aboagye and Ben Zola will team up to chart the Aduana course.
