Bibiani GoldStars condemn Sharks to 15th defeat in 21 matches

Bibiani GoldStars condemned bottom-placed Elmina Sharks to a 15th defeat beating them 1-0 on match-day 21 of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) on Sunday.

It’s a return to winning ways for the Dun’s Park outfit who were handed their heaviest defeat – 5-0 – in their debut season by leaders Asante Kotoko in Kumasi exactly a week ago.

Skipper Godfred Kyei scraped in the only goal of the game in the 39th minute and went on to win the NASCO man-of-the-match award.

GoldStars held on to the first half lead to record their 8th win of the campaign and move two places up to 12th in the league standings with 26 points.

Elmina Sharks continue to stay bottom with 12 points. They have conceded 34 goals – the highest after 21 matches.
