Yeboah, Atté and Basit: Legon Cities announce triple signing

Legon Cities have announced completing the second transfer window of the 2021/22 season with the signing of trio Patrick Yeboah, Youssifou Atté and Basit Anwar to boost their squad for the remainder of the campaign.

In an announcement Friday morning, the one-time Ghana Premier League winners stated that the players have been signed on deals till the last day of the ongoing campaign on June 19.

“Legon Cities FC is delighted to announce the signing of Patrick Yeboah, Youssifou Atté and Basit Anwar to the club.

“All three players have joined the Royal family till the end of the current league season.”

Yeboah is a left-back who – in recent years has had stints at Karela United, Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC.

Atté is a free-agent Togo international who enjoyed a successful spell last season with WAFA SC but refused to extend his contract with the Academy Boys at the end of October 2021. The 25-year-old is a versatile full-back.

Completing the triple arrivals is attacking midfielder Abdul Basit Anwar from Hearts of Oak. The 19-year-old former Star Makers player has had to look elsewhere for game time almost a year since joining the Phobians.

Legon Cities also wrote: After putting pen to paper, this is what our new arrivals had to say:

“I am very excited to join this great club. I look forward to contributing to the success of the team” – Yeboah.
“I have been here not so long ago but the reception from the team is fantastic and together we can finish the season strongly” – Anwar.
“It’s clear the ambitions of this club and I can’t wait to put on the shirt to give my all” – Atté.

Legon Cities host Hearts of Oak at El-Wak Stadium on Saturday to kick-start their campaign in the second round of the 2021/22 GPL. The Royals finished the first round in 12th position.
