#DOLwk14 Zone One Wrap: Unbeaten Nsoatreman drop points, Tamale City close the gap

Nsoatreman maintained their unbeaten run in Zone One of the 2021/22 Division One League (DOL) as a late equalizer secured a point against Berekum Arsenal in the match-day 14 round of games that produced 4 draws, 3 home wins and 1 away win.

Tamale City moved within 2 points of Nsoatreman FC – also, Bofoakwa grabbed the only away win of the week at Dreams Tamale FC.


  • Young Apostles 0–0 Baffour Soccer Academy

Young Apostles were held at home by Baffour Soccer Academy in a game that both sides failed to register a goal.

Young Apostles moves to the 5th position leaving Baffour Soccer Academy 13th on the log with 14 points.

  • Tamale City 4–2 Mighty Royals

Mighty Royals had the first goal through Shaibu Hamidu on the 2nd minute – the host however responded through Charles Junior and Mohammed Yahaya to go into the break with a 2-1 lead.

Royals had the better start to the second half through Kofi Asante who got the game on 2–2. Mohammed Yahaya grabbed his second before Isaac Yaro added another on the 89th and 92nd minutes to end the game 4–2 for Tamale City FC.

Tamale City moved within 2 points adrift of the leaders, Nsoatreman following the league leader match week 14 draw against Berekum Arsenal.

Mighty Royals settle for the 7th position with 19 points.

  • Kintampo FC 1–0 Steadfast FC

Kintampo FC smiled pretty with a 1–0 lead at the Gold City Park when Ernest Gyan grabbed the only goal of the game on the 8th minute.

Kintampo move to 16 points and lie on the 11th position – Steadfast on 19 points remain 8th on the league log.

  • B.A United 1–0 Bolga All Stars

B.A United secured a vital win on the 85th minute when Adam Musah pounded the surface to produce the only goal of the game.

B.A United are currently on 19 points with the victory while All Stars continues to occupy the 15th position with 11 points.

  • Nsoatreman FC 1–1 Berekum Arsenal

Amos Yeboah got Arsenal to a flying start with an opening minute strike against the leaders Nsoatreman FC – the hosts levelled on the 84th minute with Richmond Oppong’s great finish.

The point earned by the league leaders means its lead on the top of the table is slashed to 2 points..

Berekum Arsenal sit 3rd on the log with a whopping 10 points between them and the leaders.

  • Unity FC 1–1 Nkoranza Warriors

Theophilus Tabiri’s 48th-minute strike was not enough for Unity FC as Nkoranza Warriors pulled parity through Dramani Awuah’s 90+2 minute strike.

It ended 1–1 at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

The 2 teams are currently on 16 and 15 points, with Unity FC  sitting on 10th while Nkoranza are 12th.

  • Wa Yaasin FC 1–1 Wa Suntaa FC

WA Suntaa grabbed a 75th-minute equalizer through Ibrahim Baba after the host, Wa Yaasin had shot ahead through Prince Korsah on the 47th minute to end the “Wa derby” 1-1.

Wa Suntaa continues to languish at the base of the league log with 10 points – at the 4th position is Wa Yaasin with 21 points.

Dreams Tamale FC 0–1 Bofoakwa Tano

The last fixture of the week saw Dreams Tamale succumbing to a late firepower by Bofoakwa Tano.

Saaka Dauda’s 87th-minute strike won all points for Bofoakwa Tano.

Bofoakwa joins the top-four race with the victory giving them 22 points and Dreams Tamale remain 14th on the league log with 11 points.
