Christopher Acheampong: CSKA 1948 Sofia sign defender from Accra Lions

FC CSKA 1948 Sofia have secured the signing of versatile defender Christopher Acheampong from Ghana Premier League outfit Accra Lions.

The Bulgarian topflight side announced the deal Monday without stating further details including the duration of the contract.

Acheampong, 21, is known for his pace on both sides of the wings – either playing as a full-back or in attack.

“On Friday, he signed his contract with the “Army” in the club office, and from this week he will join the training process of the team, led by head coach Nikolai Kirov

“The Ghanaian talent impressed professionals, fans and the media in his homeland and logically took the step to move to Europe and wear the red shirt for the upcoming clashes of the efbet League,” read parts of an announcement by CSKA 1948.

Acheampong arrives in perfect physical condition having started all 17 games and scored a goal for Accra Lions in the first round of the ongoing 2021/22 Ghana Premier League. He enjoyed an impressive outing in his last game – a 2-1 defeat away to leaders Asante Kotoko on February 12.
