Tetteh Nortey penalty earns Wonders 1-0 win over 10-man RTU

A Tetteh Nortey second-half penalty settled the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 14 clash between Eleven Wonders and Real Tamale United (RTU) on Sunday.

Wonders needed to bounce back from their 4-1 thrashing by Hearts of Oak last week and did so with a 1-0 victory over the Pride of the North who finished the game with 10 men at Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman.

RTU captain Yussif Mohammed Nurudeen picked up his second yellow card and had to be marched off by centre referee Benjamin Sefah midway into the first half.

Wonders failed to make their numerical advantage count as the first half ended barren.

The second half saw the hosts earn a penalty and regular taker Tetteh Nortey did justice to it by stepping up and sending goalkeeper Yaw Osei the wrong way in the 75th minute.

The 1-0 win sees Eleven Wonders climb two places from 17th to 15th on the GPL table, level on 15 points with Berekum Chelsea who place just above them on superior goal difference. RTU, on the other hand, drop to 10th position with 18 points after 14 games.
