#DOLwk11 Zone Three Wrap: Susubiribi, Kotoku Royals miss chance to go top as Liberty beat leaders Tema Youth

The 2021/22 Division One League (DOL) Zone Three match-day 11 saw at least two goals scored in each game.

There were 4 home wins, 3 draws and Accra City Stars securing the only away win of the week against Hearts of Lions.

Defeat for Tema Youth at the hands of Liberty was not enough to see the leaders lose their spot as close chasers Susubiribi and Kotoku Royals both drew in their respective games on the road.


  • Vision FC 3–0 Accra Young Wise

At the Dawu Park on Saturday, Vision FC hammered Accra Young Wise 3 – 0 courtesy a goal and a brace from Frank Abora Duku and Gideon Ofori Offei respectively.

Vision have now appreciated to 17 points and in 7th position.

  • Liberty Professionals 2–0 Tema Youth

Godfred Atuahene and Eric Addo got the goals for Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindorf Park in a 2–0 win against Tema Youth.

Liberty, despite being in 4th position with 20 points, now move to within two points of the Zone Three leaders.

  • Akatsi All Stars 2–1 Inter Allies

Ademu Pato and Bernard Kpedator scored in the 17th and 55th minutes respectively while Solomon Antonio got the consolation goal in the 59th as Akatsi All Stars coasted to a 2-1 win over Inter Allies at WAFA Park on Saturday.

The two teams are tied on 13 points each after 11 matches.

  • Mighty Jets 1–1 Golden Kicks

Mighty Jets shared the points against Golden Kicks at the El-Wak Sports Stadium.

It ended 1–1 in a fairly contested game. Chances between the two sides were fairly shared.

  • Hearts of Lions 1 – 2 Accra City Stars

Godred Odametey and Alhassan Bennin got the goals for visiting Accra City Stars in either half of the game as Hearts of Lions was beaten at the Kpando Park. Dickson Sakabutu had equalized for the hosts with a spot-kick but the visitors snatched the win 9 minutes from time.

It was a shocking turn of events following Lions’ recent fine showing.

Both teams are currently on 19 points and in 5th and 6th positions on the league log.

  • Kwaebibirim 2–0 FC Nania

Prince Gammor and Guure Yiribil got the goals for Kwaebibirim FC in a one-sided affair against FC Nania.

With the victory, Kwaebibirim move to 10 points and in 13th position after 11 matches. FC Nania are second from bottom with 8 points.

  • Uncle T FC 1–1 Susubiribi FC

Felix Doku put hosts Uncle T FC in the lead in the 70th minute but Mohammed Nikoi levelled two minutes from time to hand Susubiribi a vital point on the road.

Susubiribi keep their chase for top spot with 21 points from 11 matches. They are just a point behind leaders Tema Youth who lost away to Liberty.

Uncle T are currently in 9th position with 15 points.

  • Krystal Palace 2 – 2 Kotoku Royals

Aboah Kofi’s second-half brace salvaged a point for Krystal Palace at home to 3rd-placed Kotoku Royals.

Richard Dzikoe and Desmond Awuah had placed the visiting Royals in cruise control in the first half.

Kotoku Royals lost the chance to push to the league top but are a point adrift of leaders Tema Youth while Palace are in 10th position with 13 points.
