Bechem beat 10-man RTU 2-0

Bechem United cruised past 10-man Real Tamale United (RTU) 2-0 in their first meeting in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) on Sunday.

The match-day 12 clash gave the Hunters their sixth win of the season and they have gone unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions.

Bechem were awarded a penalty after a challenge on striker Hafiz Konkoni saw him fall into the 18-yard box of the visitors.

A melee ensued on the field at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park out of which RTU captain Roland Frimpong got sent off after exchanging words with the centre referee.

Starman Augustine Okrah went ahead to convert the spot-kick to give Bechem the lead in the 18th minute.

The numerical disadvantage affected RTU throughout the remaining minutes of play.

Emmanuel Annor scored Bechem United’s second of the day in the 64th minute after Okrah had set him up following an individual brilliance in RTU’s half.

The win means Bechem continue to sit at fourth position with 21 points and head to Accra to face Legon Cities in their next fixture.

RTU drop to 9th place on 15 points and will next return to the Aliu Mahama Stadium in hopes of ending their three-game winless run against Bibiani GoldStars.
