2021/22 #DOLwk11: Zone Two Preview

The 2021/22 Division One League (DOL) Zone Two continues with match-day eleven from Friday, January 28 to Monday, January 31, 2022.

Leaders FC Samartex 1996, despite failing to win for the second time against Unistar Academy on match-day 10, still managed to open a six-point gap against second-placed New Edubiase United following the latter’s inability to pick a point away at Skyy FC.


New Edubiase vs Wassaman United

The action starts at Zone two when New Edubiase play host to Wassaman United FC on Saturday at Nana Gyamfi Park.

Wassaman United after winning its first game of the season on match week nine away to Sekondi Hasaacas Fc lost 2–0 to Future Stars at home on match-day ten.

Second-placed Edubiase lost 3–0 to Skyy FC at the Daboase Saint Martin’s Park and will relish a return to winning ways as the best second-placed team in the league.

Edubiase is without a win in the last two games following trips to Nzema Kotoko and Skyy FC which ended in a draw and a defeat respectively.

Wassaman finds itself at the bottom of the league log with eight points, drew 5 times and won one game in ten games.

Referee Moro Yahaya will be taking charge of the game.

Future Stars vs Bekwai Youth Football Academy

Debutants Future Stars FC will be hosting Bekwai Youth FA at the Ejisu Okese Park on Saturday.

BYFA secured a 1–0 win against Hasaacas FC on match-day ten to push to 17 points while Future Stars conjured a hard-fought 2–0 win away to Wassaman United – four wins and five draws in all for BYFA.

Future Stars have been the brightest debutant so far in the league with 13 points resulting from four wins and one draw.

Referee Juliet Appiah will be in charge of the game.

Achiken FC vs Samartex 1996

League leaders Samartex 1996 will be traveling to Assin Fosu to play bottom-placed Achiken FC at the Jumsco Park on Sunday at 3 pm.

Achiken has two wins and a draw in the ten games honored thus far against Samartex 1996 that is yet to lose a game in ten games having secured two draws and eight wins.

Samartex 1996 has 14 goals and has conceded two goals in the ten games – Achiken has conceded at least two goals in each of the ten games and has scored nine goals in the same space.

Referee Emmanuel Odoom will be the center referee for this game.

Nzema Kotoko vs Unistar Academy

The Ampain AAK II Sports Arena will see Nzema Kotoko host Unistar Academy on Sunday.

It is a mid-table clash between two sides that have already met in the FA Cup Round of 64 when Nzema Kotoko secured a 2–1 win over Unistar Academy.

Nzema Kotoko is heading into this game with a 3–1 win over Baseke Holy Stars while Unistar shared points with Samartex 1996 at home.

Referee Felix Komla Agbozo will be the center man for the day.

Baseke Holy Stars vs Ebusua Dwarfs

Newly-promoted Baseke Holy Stars will be playing host to Ebusua Dwarfs FC at CAM Park, Aiyinase on Sunday.

Referee Douglas Kporha will be in charge of that game.

Dwarfs’ fine showing in the last five outings have propelled them to the third position with 19 points and will be looking forward to maintaining that with a trip to Aiyinase against Holy Stars that will be entering this game with a defeat to Nzema Kotoko.

Sekondi Hasaacas vs Pacific Heroes

At the Sekondi Gyandu Park will be a fixture between Sekondi Hasaacas FC against Pacific Heroes FC on Sunday.

Hasaacas is without a point and a goal in the last five games and will relish a return to winning ways having failed the last two occasions against Wassaman and Ebusua Dwarfs.

Pacific Heroes on the return to Gyandu Park will have at the back of the mind last season’s 3–0 defeat to the Doo Boys.

Referee Jibraeel Suleman will be in charge of this game.

Swedru All Blacks United vs Soccer Intellectuals

Swedru All Blacks will host another debutant Soccer Intellectuals at the Swedru Stadium on Sunday with the game trusted in the hands of referee Joyce Obenewa Appiah.

Intellectuals have eight points from the ten games as a result of the two wins and two draws coming up against Swedru All Blacks with thirteen points from the same length of games and in 8th position on the league log.

Asokwa Deportivo vs Skyy FC

Skyy will make a trip to Ejisu Okese Park to play Asokwa Deportivo on Sunday and referee Laud Nettey will take care of this game.

Sixth-placed Skyy FC made a leap to the middle of the standings despite a poor showing in the first four outings. They are guests to an Asokwa Deportivo side that is also dealing with inconsistencies currently on just 9 points and in 11th position.
