Medeama SC completed the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 4 round of games with a 2-0 victory over Karela United Monday morning.
The match at Akoon Park on Sunday was, after 70 minutes, forced to be abandoned after torrential rains rendered the Akoon Park field unplayable.
Per the Premier League regulations, the final 20 minutes of the match had to be completed at 10 am this morning and the Mauve and Yellows managed to find the back of the net twice.
Medeama were awarded a penalty almost after restart with midfielder Justice Blay – who was playing his first game since breaking his fibula on April 18 – converting from the spot in the 73rd minute.
New signing Ansu Kofi Patrick left it late – in added time – to wrap up the victory with his first topflight goal.
The 2-0 win is Medeama’s first in four attempts this season and takes them to 10th position with five points, same as Karela United who sit just above them with a superior goal difference.
