Salah matches Drogba’s African Premier League goals record, Mane hits 100th

Mohamed Salah has leveled Didier Drogba’s record as the African top scorer in the Premier League while Sadio Mane scored his 100th in Liverpool’s thrashing of Watford.

The duo scored a goal each as Jurgen Klopp’s side won 5-0 at the Vicarage Road Saturday on Claudio Ranieri’s first game as Watford boss.

The Egyptian’s strike draws him level to Drogba’s 104-goal mark in the Premier League.

Salah put Mane through with a beautiful side-foot pass just above the halfway line for Mane to poke in 9 minutes into the game for Liverpool’s first.

Roberto Firmino then scored a brace in the 37th and 52nd minutes before Salah scored the record leveling goal two minutes later.

He scored another special goal after taking on the entire Watford defence before curling past Ben Foster for a fourth of the game.

Firmino then completed a hat-trick with a 91st-minute goal.

Salah said, “Last game, I scored a better goal, maybe?! I don’t know which one was better. I always try to score or help someone score. It is always about the team. Always.

“I try to give 100% every single time. I am confident at the moment – I am scoring goals and helping the team to get points which is the most important thing.”
