Black Stars head coach, Milovan Rajevac was in the stands as Edmund Addo featured for FC Sheriff Tiraspol in their 3-1 loss to Inter Milan in the Uefa Champions League Tuesday night.

The Serbian trainer, as part of his European tour to monitor players for the Ghana senior national team, made a stop at San Siro in Milan to see the young midfielder in action firsthand.

Addo’s name has been on the lips of many this season thanks to his side’s fairytale run in the Uefa Champions League campaign which sees them top Group G ahead of record winners Real Madrid.

The 21-year-old enjoyed his third straight start in the group stage and lasted 75 minutes against Inter before he got subbed off for Boban Nikola.

Addo was handed an emergency invitation to the Black Stars for the October international window following the withdrawal of Fiorentina’s Alfred Duncan,

But his Moldovan club refused to permit him to join the Black Stars as the invitation fell short of the prescribed notice period.

With Milovan Rajevac’s visit and eventual meeting after the loss to Inter Milan, Addo looks a marked target for the final leg of the Fifa World Cup group stage qualifying against Ethiopia and South Africa later in November.

Ghana, currently second in the Group G standings, are looking to usurp South Africa for the top spot and only ticket to the final playoff round to Qatar 2022.
