Jordan Ayew misses penalty as Black Stars win 8-0 in test match

The Black Stars of Ghana scored 8 goals without reply against second-tier side Soccer Intellectuals in a test match at Cape Coast Stadium Wednesday evening.

Coach Milovan Rajevac’s men are stepping up their readiness to host Zimbabwe in a Group G match-day 3 fixture in the African qualifiers to the 2022 Fifa World Cup on Saturday, October 9.

Youngsters Kamaldeen Sulemana and Fatawu Issahaku scored a brace each with Benjamin Tetteh, Mohammed Kudus, Yaw Yeboah and Joel Fameyeh contributing the other four.

Striker Jordan Ayew missed a penalty but provided a couple of assists while his brother and team captain Andre as well as Alexander Djiku and Jonathan Mensah (who arrived in camp the same day) were not involved in the game.

The Black Stars have two more days to wrap up their preparations before hosting the Warriors at the same venue on Saturday

Ghana will be hoping for victory at home before heading to Harare three days later for the reverse fixture.

The three-time World Cup campaigners need wins in both games to remain in contention to qualify Qatar 2022, having picked up 3 points in the opening two games, 1 below group leaders South Africa.
