2022 WCQ: ‘Black Stars hungrier than South Africa’ – Milovan Rajevac

Ghana coach, Milovan Rajevac says his side is hugely poised to qualify ahead of South Africa as leaders of Group G in the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars are second behind Bafana Bafana and Milo believes the challenge for top spot will go down to the last day.

Ghana plays Ethiopia and then have an important qualifier against South Africa days later. A win for the Stars will cement their spot for the World Cup qualifying playoffs.

“This is normal because everybody wants to win so statements are statements and pitch is a pitch. We feel the same motivation and I think we are even hungrier for success.

“So we have strong faith in our capabilities and in our unity and know what is at stake so we will do anything in our power to win these matches and go to the next stage.

Milo continued: “We were monitoring the situation of course but we are thinking primarily of ourselves because everything is in our hands and we depend on ourselves so the moment we win successfully, we don’t focus on the other team.

“We are not concerned about the other result, the matches will be good for us and we can analyse them and see the good and bad points of both teams.

“So these matches will be good for us to analyse and prepare our game plan but we focus on our self and it is a good thing we have everything in our hands.”

The Serbian gaffer has begun his second spell with Ghana in fine fashion, beating Zimbabwe 3-1 in Cape Coast and 1-0 away at Harare.
