VIDEO: Fameyeh header gives Orenburg away win

In-form Ghana international, Joel Fameyeh scored the only goal as FC Orenburg took a commanding lead in the 2021/22 Russian Football National League after 14 matches.

Orenburg travelled to beat Kuban Krasnodar 1-0 Wednesday afternoon.

Fameyeh increased his season’s tally to 8 goals after 39 minutes of action. A timely run in the box saw the diminutive forward head in a corner kick to give his side the lead.

The headed goal will go on to stay as the match decider.

After the midweek batch of games, FC Orenburg now open a two-point gap at the summit of the second-tier league due to second-placed Torpedo Moscow’s 1-1 draw at home.

FC Orenburg next host Spartak Moscow II on Sunday, October 3 after which Fameyeh will head to Ghana to join the Black Stars camp for a World Cup qualifying doubleheader against Zimbabwe.
