Richard Boadu begins two-week trials with Serbian giants FK Partizan

Medeama SC midfielder Richard Boadu has joined Serbian giants FK Partizan on trials for the next two weeks.

The 23-year-old was officially invited for the exercise from September 2 to 15 but visa delay saw him finally fly out of Accra for Belgrade on Wednesday night,

Once he impresses, the 27-time SuperLiga champions will hand Boadu a long-term contract.

Boadu, the defensive midfielder, has been a target of local giants Asante Kotoko who have, on the side, been in advanced talks with his club Medeama in the local transfer window.

The Mauve and Yellows quoted a $25,000 GH¢150,000) price tag to Kotoko but the Porcupine Warriors responded with a little over $16,000 (GH¢100,000) counter offer.

But the negotiations stalled following the receipt of the trials offer from Partizan.

In the 2020/21 season, Richard Boadu made 24 appearances for Medeama, netting once.

At the end of the campaign, he expressed a desire to play elsewhere after a three-year service with Medeama. He arrived from lower-tier side Phar Rangers.
