Maxwell Agyemang joins Kotoko on 3-year deal

Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of defender Maxwell Kofi Agyemang.

The centre-back joins from Division One side Wamanfao Mighty Royals for the next three years, the Porcupine Warriors published across their socials Wednesday.

21-year-old Agyemang becomes Kotoko’s second signing – after midfielder Richmond Lamptey – ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Agyemang was one of the standout performers in Zone One of the Division One League last season.

With a good disciplinary record of only a yellow card in 27 appearances, he scored three goals and provided three assists for Mighty Royals during the 2020/21 campaign.

Maxwell Kofi Agyemang will be hoping to become a main feature in what be Kotoko’s new-look centre-back partnership with one of Andrews Appau and Yusif Mubarik in the upcoming season.

Centre-backs Habib Mohammed and Wahab Adams are set for the exit as free agents while there is uncertainty surrounding the future of second deputy captain Abdul Ganiyu Ismail whose contract runs out in October.
