Returnee Black Stars coach, Milovan Rajevac says he is open to ‘hearing ideas’ but the ultimate decision on player selection to the Ghana senior national team would be solely his.
The Serbian is back as Ghana coach for a second spell after vacating the job at the end of his contract in late 2010.
Rajevac takes over from sacked CK Akonnor whose time was allegedly fraught with the imposition of players in terms of call-ups by the powers that be at the GFA.
Speaking on player selection at his unveiling Friday, the 67-year-old said:
“It is important to have good communication with the management of the GFA and I’m always ready to talk about everything.
“Of course, I’m open to hearing ideas, this is how I work. But when it comes to who would be invited, it is my decision because it’s my job and I’m responsible [for it] in the end.”
“The call-ups decision is mine,” he reiterated
Milovan Rajevac’s immediate assignment is to settle on a squad for an October 9 and 12 doubleheader with Zimbabwe in the African qualifiers to the Qatar 2022 Fifa World Cup.
