Egyptian Premier League side, Al-Ittihad Alexandria Club have finally completed the signing of Ghana striker Benjamin Bernard Boateng for the next three seasons.

The lanky youngster – who turns 21 this November – left Accra in late July after receiving the blessings of Elmina Sharks to conclude his part of negotiations that had taken place between the two clubs.

Six weeks on, the deal – said to be worth $100,000 in transfer fee – has now been formalized.

A club announcement read Friday evening: “The board of directors of Al-Ittihad Alexandria Club, headed by Mr. Mohamed Misailahi, succeeded in signing with the Ghanaian striker Benjamin Boateng, born in 2000, 21 years old.

“Following the end of all financial details with his former club ′′ELMINA SHARKS FC′′ and the player signed his three-season contract to join the ranks of the gap leader.”

Benjamin Boateng was crucial to Sharks’ survival this season, scoring 8 goals in 25 league appearances (2,147 minutes) and bagging four man-of-the-match awards.

In the previous season, he registered 7 goals in 14 league games before the campaign got cancelled due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
