Yusif Basigi: Hasaacas Ladies coach aims Caf Champions League triumph

Hasaacas Ladies coach Yusif Basigi has set his sights on winning the maiden edition of the Caf Women’s Champions League slated for Egypt later this year.

Hasaacas emerged winners of the Wafu Zone B qualifying tournament after beating Rivers Angels 3-1 in the final a couple of weeks ago.

Ahead of the main competition, Basigi in an interview with Joy Sports, says his side is not going to relent in their effort to win the trophy.

‘’Wafu is gone and now we are looking up to the championship, which of course, other clubs are coming to win, too.

“We are also going in for the trophy in Egypt not because we won the Wafu Zone B, but because we will be seen as a side capable of winning and that is a motivation for the girls,” he added.

The 2021 Caf Women’s Champions League will be played by 8 teams across Africa. Hasaacas Ladies and Rivers Angels will represent Wafu B.

Mali’s AS Mande will feature for Wafu A while AS FAR of Morocco joins host side Wadi Degla of Egypt.

Three other teams from Southern Africa (COSAFA), East Africa (CECAFA) and Central Africa (UNIFFAC).
