Defender Gideon Mensah has completed a loan move to French Ligue 1 side FC Girondins de Bordeaux for the upcoming season.
The left-back joins the Stade Matmut Atlantique outfit from Red Bull Salzburg in an agreement that includes an option to buy at the end of the campaign.
The 23-year has been handed the number 14 shirt.
“Gideon [Mensah] is a modern defender. He will bring us all his energy.
“He is a player who will please our supporters because he gives everything.
“Personally, I would also like to thank him for trusting us in this new project,” Technical Director Admar Lopes told the club’s website.
Mensah becomes the second Ghanaian to join the French topflight league this summer after Kamaldeen Sulemana.
The 2021/22 French Ligue 1 season is scheduled to start this coming weekend with Bordeaux opening their season at home against Clenmort Foot on Sunday, August 8.
