WAFA pip Inter Allies in penultimate home game

WAFA SC defeated relegated Inter Allies 1-0 in their penultimate home game of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League Saturday afternoon.

Making a rare start, second-round signing Alhassan Seidu Abu scored the goal that decided the match-day 32 fixture at Sogakope.

The close-range finish by the former Karela United and Prampram Youth midfielder came as early as the 4th minute.

Inter Allies were awarded a penalty in the 15th minute when Alex Aso was brought down in the WAFA box.

But Nafiu Sulemana saw his effort from the spot saved by goalkeeper Boliver Sarfo Owusu.

The result confirms that Inter Allies will finish bottom of the Ghana Premier League this season, while the three points temporarily lift WAFA up to 3rd in the table.

Enock Asubonteng, who notched the assist for the game decider, was adjudged NASCO man-of-the-match.
