Official: Coach Maxwell Konadu joins Legon Cities

Legon Cities have formally announced the inclusion of experienced coach Maxwell Konadu to the club’s technical team.

The Ghana national U-17 head coach joins the Royals for the remaining two games of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League – against Elmina Sharks (away) and Eleven Wonders (home) – and the MTN FA Cup competition.

In a brief statement Sunday night, Legon Cities made no mention of the position of head coach Bashir Hayford, who has been in charge of the team since November last year.

“Management has with immediate effect taken the decision to augment the technical set-up of the club. Maxwell Konadu has been hired to beef up the team until the end of the 2020/21 football season,” read the release titled ‘technical direction of the club,’

Konadu has not coached a club side since receiving the sack by Asante Kotoko in December 2020.

Legon Cities, heading into the final two games of the league campaign, are just two points above the relegation zone. They have not won a game in their last four outings.
