Eleven Wonders stunned Medeama SC at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman on Sunday afternoon to take control of their fight against relegation.
Ignatius Osei Fosu’s side cruised to a 3-1 win in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 33 fixture to move four points clear of safety and confirm their survival no matter the outcome of their final day visit to Legon CIties.
Defender Tetteh Nortey scored first within four minutes of play for the hosts.
Wonders scored two more goals through spot-kicks converted by Simms Kwayie and Ganiu Abass in the stoppage time of both halves.
Striker Prince Opoku Agyemang scored the consolation for Medeama.
The defeat takes Yaw Preko’s side out of the top four to 5th place with 51 points. They will host Berekum Chelsea at Akoon Park on the last day of the season.
Eleven Wonders now lie 12th in the league standings with 42 points.
