#GPLwk33: WAFA shock Karela to move into third

WAFA SC travelled to defeat Karela United at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon to move to third in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) standings.

Goals from Augustine Boakye and Lawrence Agyekum gave the Academy Boys a 2-0 win over the Pride and Passion lads in their penultimate game of the season.

Boakye scored the first goal early in the second minute before Agyekum added the second in the 38th minute to seal the win.

WAFA have now gone four games unbeaten after last losing 3-2 to Liberty Professions on match-day 28.

The win gives the Sogakope-based side 52 points from the 33 games played, overtaking Medeama SC to the third position on the league log and will finish their season at home to champions Hearts of Oak.

Karela United, on the other hand, drift further down to 8th place after losing their last four games and will finish the season away to Aduana Stars in Dormaa.
