Ganiu Abass nets late to hand Wonders crucial win at Olympics

Eleven Wonders put themselves in good position to avoid relegation from the Ghana Premier League by snatching a crucial win against Great Olympics Sunday afternoon.

The match-day 32 clash looked ending in a goalless draw before the Passioners snatched a 1-0 win late in the game at the Accra Sports Stadium.

It was forward Ganiu Abass who powered home a left-footed shot from close range five minutes from regulation time.

The match-winner is Ganiu’s fourth in 10 second-round games for Wonders.

The important road victory puts coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu’s side move from 14th to 13th position and two points above safety.

Eleven Wonders complete the season hosting Medeama and visiting Legon Cities on the final day.

The defeat, on the other hand, means Great Olympics drop from third to 5th position with 49 points.
