Percious Boah’s free-kick brace propels Dreams to comeback win against Wonders

An 11-minute free-kick brace from substitute Percious Boah lifted Dreams FC to a 2-1 home victory over Eleven Wonders in their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League match-day 30 clash on Wednesday.

A heavy downpour prior to kickoff threatened the match at Dawu Park but it eventually went ahead 30 minutes after the scheduled time.

Wonders led most of the way thanks to a surprise lead after 22 minutes from Abass Ganiu who headed home a cross from Samuel Boakye.

Fresh from returning from a two-week Asian tour with the Ghana U-23 team, forward Percious Boah came off the bench as a substitute for Emmanuel Ocran in the 56th minute and went on to inspire the Believers to an impressive turnaround with back-to-back goals.

Boah struck a trademark free-kick to level matters for Dreams in the 64th minute.

The 18-year-old then snatched the win for the hosts with yet another free-kick strike in the 75th.

Win number 13 of the campaign means Dreams – now on 48 points – will finish match-day 30 back in the top 4 places.

Eleven Wonders – also after their 13th defeat – risk finishing the round back in the drop zone with 33 points. Their relegation rivals play on Thursday.

Dreams FC right-back Philemon Baffour received the NASCO man-of-the-match award.
