Eleven Wonders bounced back from back-to-back defeats with a 3-1 thrashing of Berekum Chelsea Sunday to boost their hopes of surviving relegation from the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL).
The match-day 31 tie at Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman was originally scheduled for Saturday but had to be played this morning after a heavy downpour rendered the field unplayable.
Samuel Boakye fired Wonders ahead in the 22nd minute.
Twenty minutes later, experienced right-back Amos Frimpong struck his first goal for the hosts since his free-agent second transfer window move.
Wonders led 2-0 at halftime.
Berekum Chelsea’s fightback attempt saw Bright Amponsah pulling a goal back in the. 52nd minute.
But in-form Ganiu Abass put the game beyond the Bibires’ reach in the 75th minute with his third goal in successive games for coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu’s men.
The 3-1 victory sees Eleven Wonders climb two spots up to 13th on 36 points, one behind Berekum Chelsea after 31 matches.
