Kamal Sowah declares readiness for ‘the next challenge’ as he returns to Leicester City

Ghana forward, Kamal Sowah has left OH Leuven to parent club Leicester City after completing a three-and-a-half season loan spell at the Belgian club.

The 21-year-old joined the Foxes as a teenager from Right to Dream Academy in January 2018 and was immediately sent out on loan to continue his development.

He helped OH Leuven to gain promotion to the Belgian Jupiler Pro League for the just-ended 2020/21 season where he started in all games, scoring 8 times and delivering six assists.

Sowah, who is set for his first cap with the Ghana senior national team during the June international break, believes the time is right for the next step in his career after combining 72 appearances during his Leuven stay.

Taking to his official Facebook page Monday morning, Kamal Sowah posted a farewell message to the club:

“I make this post with strong emotions as I am very grateful for the time that I have spent at @ohleuven. I came here as a boy and I am leaving as a man ready to take on my next challenge.”

Kamal Sowah would be hoping for a chance in manager Brendan Rogers’ Leicester City squad for the upcoming 2021/22 season.
