Hearts of Oak will win the league – Ibrahim Salifu

Ibrahim Salifu believes Hearts of Oak has got the quality and mentality to win the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The attacker found the Phobians’ winner against Bechem United on Wednesday to help them clinch their second victory after losing to Dreams.

The 1-0 triumph has seen Hearts move to second, just a point behind leaders Asante Kotoko who play Ebusua Dwarfs on Thursday afternoon.

A win for the Porcupines will extend their lead at the top to four points.

“Bechem United had not lost at home this season and it was our wish to break that jinx. We have achieved that and now we move on to claim the next points available.

“I think we can win the league. It’s been 10 years since Hearts won the league and that’s our main focus,” Salifu said after the game.

“We need to beat Sharks and we can move top. I believe we will win the league.”

After Elmina Sharks, the Phobians play Eleven Wonders at Techiman. That’s a former club and a venue that changed his career from a “Sure” lad to a “Never Say Die” star.
