Bashir Hayford hails Legon Cities determination at Obuasi

Legon Cities coach, Bashir Hayford is elated about his side’s away victory over AshantiGold in Obuasi on Sunday.

The Royals pipped their hosts 1-0 from Issaka Mohammed’s right-footed strike from a rebound in the 6-yard box.

“We fought hard for the win. It wasn’t easy at all but the boys showed more determination and hunger,” the gaffer told reporters.

“We knew this will be a difficult game because AshantiGold lost their last game and so we prepared in every aspect to make sure we return to Accra with the victory.

“The defending from the team was great. I love their reaction without the ball. We hope to continue this our run.”

Cities have picked three victories in their last four games.

The victory moves Legon Cities to ninth on the league standings and they play Inter Allies in their next league fixture.

Before that, they have a cup tie against Uncle T early June.
