VIDEO: Accam nets on debut as Hammarby progress to Swedish Cup semis

Ghana forward, David Accam made a scoring debut for Hammarby IF with an extra-time goal as they emerged 3-2 winners over Trelleborgs in a delayed Swedish Cup quarterfinal clash Thursday night.

The new signing started from the bench while compatriot Abdul-Halik Hudu – of Inter Allies fame – made the starting line-up and put up a man-of-the-match performance for his side at Tele2 Arena.

Trelleborg fought back late and forced the game into extra-time through an 87th-minute equalizer from substitute Petar Petrovic.

Two minutes into extra time, Gustav Ludwigson restored the lead for Hammarby.

Accam, who had come off the bench for Hammarby not long after the hour mark, extended the lead to 3-1 with a beautiful header in the 99th minute.

Trelleborg reduced the deficit to 3-2 through in the 109th minute.

Former Asante Kotoko forward, Abdul Fatawu Safiu warmed the bench for 78 minutes before coming on for Trelleborgs.

Halik and Hudu will be hoping to help Hammarby reach the Swedish Cup final by travelling to beat Djurdagen in the semifinal scheduled for Sunday, April 4. BK Hacken awaits the winner.
