Aduana FC bounced back from last week’s heavy defeat away to Bechem United with a 2-1 home win over Elmina Sharks Sunday afternoon.
The titleholders went into the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 21 encounter looking to make amends for last week’s 4-0 drubbing at the hands of the Hunters.
Aduana, welcoming their fans back at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Stadium, had the brighter start and had the chance to take the lead after being awarded an early penalty.
Sam Adams stepped up and converted the spot-kick after four minutes of play.
Sharks fell further behind in the 18th minute with Adams netting his brace.
Aduana led 2-0 until the 81st minute when Justice Ato Mensah managed to halve the deficit for the visitors.
The win lifts Aduana to 9th place, four spots and six points clear of Elmina Sharks who now drop to 13th after 21 matches.
