Kwaku Karikari scored on the 50th minute after Wonders failed to take the lead in a battle of relegation-threatened sides, despite dominating in the first half of the match held at Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
After breaking the deadlock, Liberty held on till full-time to record their second consecutive victory after losing four games on the trot.
Wonders dominated most parts of the encounter but were continuously wasteful upfront.
The Sure Boys had gone three games without victory and were in dire need of the points in widening the gap between them and 16th-placed Liberty.
