Kwame Opoku officially presented as USM Alger player

Striker Kwame Opoku has officially been presented as a new USM Alger player.

The Algerian giants officially announced securing the economic rights for the 22-year-old from Asante Kotoko on March 15 but have had to wait for almost a month to arrive and conclude the final part of the deal.

Opoku’s arrival was delayed by international duty with the Ghana senior national team and flight challenges.

Desperate to have the former Nkoranza warriors join them early led the Reds to arrange for him to join league rivals ES Sétif’s return flight to Algeria from Nigeria where they played against Enyimba FC in the Caf Confederation Cup on April 4. But the player could not travel to Nigeria.

Kwame Opoku finally left Accra for Algeria last weekend and underwent a mandatory medical at three locations on Monday, paving the way for USM Alger to finally hold an official presentation ceremony for the player on Tuesday.

USM Alger signed Opoku on a four-and-a-half-year contract with the player set to earn 2,330,883.33 Algerian Dinars (≅ €15,000) as gross monthly salary.

Kwame Opoku joins Algerian forward Zakaria Naidji as well as left-back Houari Baouche as three new signings by USM Alger in the spring transfer window.
