Asante Kotoko will need to brace themselves for poor pitches if they will record victories away, assistant coach Johnson Smith has opined.
The Reds 1-1 stalemate against Eleven Wonders saw the home side dominating most parts of the match.
Fabio Gama’s early lead that silenced the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park was cancelled by Samuel Boakye in the first half.
Smith asserts that his side could not execute their game plan due to the poor nature of the turf.
‘The boys did well but we couldn’t play as we had hoped,” the gaffer said after the game.
“Our training pitch at Adako Jachie is better than their pitch here so we struggled a lot. We couldn’t possess.
“Maybe we need to brace ourselves for such venues if we can record good and consistent performances.”
Talk of pitches, Asante Kotoko’s next three games will be on fine pitches.
Two games against Bechem United and Berekum Chelsea at Obuasi and an away clash with Great Olympics in Accra.
