Medeama SC have lost star player Justice Blay to a season-ending injury.
The defensive midfielder broke his right fibula on Sunday when the Mauve and Yellows beat Legon Cities 2-1 in a 2020/21 Ghana Premier League match-day 20 fixture at Akoon Park in Tarkwa.
Blay suffered an injury following a bad tackle in the 44th minute by Royals’ centre-back Joseph Adjei.
Joseph Adjei has been shown the red card after a savage tackle on Justice Blay.
Blay has been taken off in what appears a very serious injury.

He was forced off with scans at the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital later revealing a distal one-third fibula fracture which could take two to three months to heal.
“Justice Blay has been ruled of action between 2-3 months with a fractured fibula.
“Scans at the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital have revealed that the midfielder has suffered a fracture of distal 1/3 of the right fibula,” read a publication on Medeama’s official website.
Parts of the publication added: “It’s unclear if he will recover fully on time to play any part in the ongoing campaign.
“Blay is under strict medical care as he begins the process of recovery.
“The club will update fans on any other measures being taken by the club’s top hierarchy to ensure he receives the best medical care during this difficult period.
The Board, Management, Players and technical team wish him a speedy recovery.”
