Fabio Gama talks Brazilian techniques and surviving Ghanaian pitches

Asante Kotoko’s Fabio Gama believes improving Ghanaian pitches and investing in grassroots football can help Ghanaian clubs in achieving laurels in Africa.

The midfielder in an interview with Pure FM, has explained why Brazilian football and players flourish in all competitions around the globe.

“Brazilian teams invest in their academies and that includes improving the technique of the players. That is the difference compared to Ghana.”

“When the facilities are improved it helps the young players to learn and grow in their career.”

Gama continued by touching on the level of pitches in Ghana’s top-flight football competition.

“The quality of the Ghanaian pitches are not the best but in such situations, I have to play simple and the most difficult game at Kotoko was against WAFA.

“That’s because they have a good pitch and they play well.

“When we play at some venues, can’t keep the ball for long so for me, I adapt. I was prepared for all that before I arrived here.”

Fabio Gama scored his first goal for Kotoko at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in a 1-1 draw against Eleven Wonders.
