Asante Kotoko have confirmed the signing of Solomon Sarfo Taylor, who has been a free agent since leaving Danish side Vendsyssel FF in January last year.
The 22-year-old – who thrives as a second striker – becomes the first signing of the record league champions in the second transfer window of the 2020/21 season.
Sarfo Taylor put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal – one that will run through to the end of the 2023/24 season – after passing a mandatory medical.

Finally a Porcupine!
Solomon Sarfo Taylor, a Kotoko fan, is one long-time target who gets to relaunch his career with a return to the Ghana Premier League through the red shirt.
“The truth is my dad supports Asante Kotoko and my mum supports Hearts of Oak, so I grew up supporting my dad’s team which is Asante Kotoko,” the player disclosed in an interview with Green FM in June 2020.
Sarfo Taylor slipped through the hands of Kotoko who had negotiated to pay a GH¢100,000 transfer fee for his services and even advanced half of it to former club Karela United in 2019.
He controversially pulled out of the deal in favour of a move to Danish side Vendsyssel FF. Karela eventually refunded Kotoko their money.
His two-year contract with the lower-tier club was, however, cut short six months on after managing just six appearances with a goal to show.
During his Karela United days, Solomon Sarfo Taylor formed a deadly partnership in attack with current Ghana Premier League top scorer Charles Diawisie Taylor especially in the Normalization Special Cup competition in 2019.
