Hearts unveil $200k-a-year partnership with Sunon Asogli

Hearts of Oak have announced a one-year sponsorship agreement with Sunon Asogli Power  Ghana Limited – a deal which officially took effect Thursday, March 4 and subject to renewal.

The Phobians outdoored Sunon Asogli as the club’s new front-of-shirt sponsor when they hosted and thrashed WAFA SC 4-0 in their Ghana Premier League match-day 17 fixture on Sunday.

The front of Hearts jerseys will henceforth be branded with the name and logo of Sunon Asogli for the contract period.

The second most successful GPL side, confirming the details of the deal, stated that it will see them earn $200,000.

Half of the amount was advanced to the club upon signing the deal last Thursday with the other scheduled to be paid in two equal tranches

Hearts, after thrashing WAFA SC, tweeted the details of the sponsorship which is the biggest per year in the club’s history:

Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Limited is a giant in power generation jointly owned by Shenzhen Energy Group Company Ltd (shares 60%) and the China African Development Fund (shares 40%).

The project is a modern, high-efficient, environmentally friendly, natural gas fuel combine cycle power plant situated on a 50-acre land at Tema, Accra.
